SpeakerPODcast Ep.110 – A Dog & Tony Show

Just who the hell IS Tony?

You’ve heard his voice on the podcast before, but this episode we thought we’d give him a chance to tell his Macross story.

Growing up with one foot in the US, one in Taiwan, and another in Japan, this strange 3-legged creature has a unique history with the franchise and its fandom.

We also report back from a Kazutaka Miyatake talkshow where we got to ask the designer of the SDF-1 and the Yamato about his work on Macross Delta. Oh, he also had some Gundam and Blue Submarine No.6 tales to tell too.

We were recording in a new venue with new software this episode. Hopefully the sound quality didn’t suffer too much as a result but, as always, if you have any feedback, comments or suggestions, get in touch with us via Facebook or Twitter.

Miyatake was heavily inspired by Cambodia’s Angkor Wat when designing the Protoculture ship Sigur Berrentz.

Just who did come up with these iconic Gundam concepts? The answer may surprise you.
